In 1983, Ken Nah graduated from Hanyang University, South Korea. His interest in human factors/ergonomics led to Master Degree from Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1985, and in 1996 he was conferred his Ph.D. from TUFTS University in USA. Dr. Nah is also a USA certified professional ergonomist (CPE).
From 2002 to 2005, he was the dean at the International Design School for Advanced Studies (IDAS), today, he is Professor of Design Management at the school. Currently, he also holds the post of Director at the International Design Trend Center (IDTC). And he manages all the projects for World Design Capital (WDC) Seoul 2010 as the General Director.
Apart from teaching, Ken is also the Vice President of Korea Federation of Design Societies (KDFS), the President of Korea Design Knowledge (KDK) Forum, Vice President of Korea Association of Industrial Designers (KAID), the Chairman of Ergonomics Design Award (EDA) by the Ergonomics Society of Korea, as well as the Chairman of Design and Brand Committee of the Korea Consulting Association (KCA).
Ken Nah has authored and co-authored more than 50 papers domestically and internationally, and has also published 5 books, “Design Powerhouse” (also translated in Chinese), authored by him, “Hot Trends 40”,”Planning Powerhouse” and “Trend Powerhouse” , which he co-authored and “Office Ergonomics”, which he translated to Korean.
