Every holiday season, we severely contaminate the sea with our rubbish. Dustbin 4 the Beach is easily installed in the sand and can be shifted conveniently to follow the crowd.
All over the world, 700 tonnes of waste are thrown into the sea every hour. A number of sea species fall victim to the contamination of their environment. A factor that contributes to this situation is a lack of bins on the beach in which to throw our waste. Dustbin 4 the Beach is for use by the public. It has been designed specifically for use on the sand, its streamlined form recalling the body shape of a dolphin. Its tapered base is stamped down into the sand in order for the bin to stand up – much like how the stem of a beach umbrella is pitched into the sand when erected. A cut-out niche at the base allows the user to stamp the bin down with the foot, and a cut-out handle at the top facilitates easy removal and shifting. Vinyl bags are used within. |
