Air Chair

At once simple and technically challenging, Air Chair has a sculptural form in which wooden laths splay to form a backrest.

Seven splayed wooden laths compose the back of Air Chair, decreasing in height to create a backrest and establishing a striking visual effect at the same time. They are joined together to create the two rear legs of the chair. The front legs and seat are solid wood. The form has been honed so that it uses only what is strictly essential to the creation of the chair. The wood is recyclable and biological glue is used to join the laths. Air Chair can be stacked to save space, and so doing creates an interesting graphic effect.
