Hope Cradle sends a message of support and hope to the children born into poverty in Africa who face difficult odds.
200,000 and 6,000. This is how any deaths of infants (below the age of five) occur each year – firstly on the African continent, and secondly in advanced countries. (The figures were prepared by UNICEF in 2007.) Due to poverty, hunger, and long civil wars on the African continent, the number of refugees has reached eight million. New lives continue to begin in the refugee camps. The Hope Cradle was designed to bring hope to these young lives.
The body of the cradle, as well as its textile sheet and loops, is made with eco-friendly corn resin PLA (Polylactic Acid). This material is not hazardous to a baby’s skin and naturally decomposes after being disposed of. Messages of hope could be attached to the cradle. |
