Play Line, Play Dot

Play Dot, Play Line is a versatile indoor play wall that can stimulate children's creative talents with the elements of dots and lines.

The development of computers and digital technology has discouraged children from playing outside and exercising. Moreover, there are few physical indoor play activities. Play Dot, Play Line is a play wall designed to stimulating kids’ creativity as well as inducing physical activity when they’re indoors (perhaps due to rain) – be it at home or at kindergarten. Creative thinking is stimulated by the elements of dots and lines.

Play Dot, Play Line consists of a hollow wall punctuated with holes, two types of cylindrical magnetic blocks, and rubber connecting bands. The system allows for a multiple arrangements and a variety of patterns of use. Blocks are inserted into the holes, and can also be connected to each other. The rubber connecting bands are used to connect the blocks (or dots) and make lines. Several bands can be connected to one block.

Words and images can be made, and the wall can be erased like a whiteboard. The wall can also be climbed, with the rubber bands akin to the steps of a ladder and the blocks akin to footholds. It could be used as a soccer goal area or a mini baseball board. It could also be used as an over-sized board game.
