Composed of two simple plastic components, Eslimi makes the hanging and removing of t-shirts quick and easy.
T-shirts are comfortable, easy to wear, simple, light and generally affordable, which makes them one of the most popular pieces of clothing in the world. One of the best ways to keep them in shape and prevent creases is simply to hang them. However, existing hangers are not generally well designed for t-shirts. The shapes and rigid structures of hangers currently on the market can leave users frustrated. Eslimi helps users to hang and remove their t-shirts quickly and easily.
Eslimi is made of two simple plastic components: a rigid handle and a flexible holder. The flexible component is stiff enough to hold the t-shirt and yet flexible enough to be bent easily. It bends in the middle when it is squeezed, allowing the hanger to enter t-shirts from the neck. Upon release, the two wings extend to the t-shirt's sleeves and remain in position. The weight of the t-shirt causes the wings to conform to the shoulders’ profile. The flexibility of the hanger allows the shirts to be removed easily. With a little tug, t-shirts slide smoothly from the hanger.
Eslimi's form was derived from its unique function, while maintaining the original aesthetic of a hanger. The design is accentuated by the smooth curves and glossy finish of the handle. The hook at the top is inspired by the popular organic form of the tendril in old Persian art. This is also where Eslimi drives its name. The design is an elegant fusion of traditional Persian values with modern design. Both plastic parts are easy to produce with minimum material. The flexible holder has two small dome bulges on its top surface, which fixes the holder to the handle.
