The combination of a modular system and local production techniques led to the idea for Kaysorn – a ceramic bone china lamp.
Kaysorn is created by attaching organically shaped modules together to produce a circular form. The lamp exudes a translucent and reflective quality as a result of the glossy finish applied to the material chosen – bone china. Bone china, as a material, expresses an emotional and textural essence that is rooted in the spirit of the Asian culture.
Kaysorn’s modular design makes it ideal for mass production and allows the lamp to be randomly assembled using UV glue and varnish. The size of the lamp is dependent on the quantity of the modules used and the space created between each unit. Kaysorn is easy to produce and assemble. It could be used as a floor lamp, a table lamp, a wall lamp, or even a ceiling lamp. Kaysorn is a charming tropical craft piece inspired by tropical pollen.
