Space constraints in public areas led to a reconsideration of the typical chair form, and the development of a dual-function product that increases user convenience.

If one looks abstractly at any object, it can be seen that it has an outside surface and an internal area. Usually, people use just the outside surface while the inside area is seen as empty. Today, there are so many places with a deficit of space, such as cafes, banks, and public transport vehicles, to name a few. In spaces such as these, it is difficult to find enough space for your overcoat and hand baggage – they must be held in the hands or placed on a general shared rack. This is neither comfortable nor safe.

The Chair-Wardrobe concept aims to solve this problem. The outside surface is used as a normal chair, but the internal area becomes a small, private wardrobe. The user can hang their jacket within the chair back and put their bag into the cavity under the seat. Chair-Wardrobe has been designed with a metal frame and two colours of plastic to underscore the two areas and two ways of using of this object. Chair-Wardrobe has a friendly design and a bright image. It can also be produced with different combinations of timber and textile to suit various interiors.
