Chul-Ho Kim

President of the International Design School for Advanced Studies

In 1974 Dr. Chul-ho Kim graduated from Hongik University in Korea with a BFA in Industrial Design. In addition, he further studied at the Hanyang University in Korea, and in 2002 he attained the title of Doctor of
Engineering, Industrial Design, at the Chiba University in Japan.

Chul-ho Kim incorporated his long-time experience as designer into different design organisations: from 1974 to 2003 he was Executive Vice-President of the LG Electronics Corporate Design Center, and from 1998
to 2000 he held the position of President of the Korea Association of Industrial Designers (KAID). In 2001 Kim supported the organisation committee of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design
(Icsid). In 2003, he was appointedthe CEO of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion; today he is the President of the International Design School for Advanced Studies as well as member of the Seoul Design Forum.

His works, regularly on display at the Korean Industrial Design Exhibition, have received numerous awards, amongst others the Silver Order of Industrial Achievement, Korea, and the Grand Prize of the Korea Design & Brand Award.
