The awarding ceremony of the red dot award: design concept 2008 closed in a rush of adrenaline, with the 360, a re-definition of the skateboard, taking the biggest prize of the year.
 

The ceremony opened with a cutting edge music performance and video show by Timothy O'Dwyer and Brian O' Reilly. The performance perfectly encapsulated the essence of the red dot award: design concept, to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of genres.
 

Every year, the red dot award: design concept invites the most talented designers and most progressive companies from all over the world to submit their best design ideas to rigorous adjudication process.
 

This year, from out of 1,906 entries, the jury awarded 170 red dot awards, 20 red dot: best of the best awards and 1 red dot: luminary.
